The Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards, supported by the Department of Health, are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of regional awards which celebrates excellence in social care and pay tribute to those who work in the sector throughout England. The awards are all inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers; promoting joint working.
Barbara was amazed to be selected as a finalist at the National Awards and is absolutely humbled to have been chosen to win the Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Award for innovation. She would like to thank all those who are involved in the Butterfly Scheme, not least the wonderful hospital leads and the fabulous team of carer-speakers, who co-present in all on-site teaching. The Butterfly Scheme is a true collaborative and everyone who is part of that should share in the enjoyment of this accolade.
