In March, the Butterfly Scheme’s founder was flown to Northern Ireland to address Leads from most of its hospitals. This kind invitation came from Professor June Andrews of the University of Stirling and the DSDC. Via DSDC, funding was offered to one successful applicant hospital to be the first to launch the Butterfly Scheme in Northern Ireland, but when it came to choosing, four of the hospitals had made such strong applications that DSDC decided to fund them all! This means that the Butterfly Scheme will soon be launched in one hospital from each of four of Northern Ireland’s five Health Boards.
